YR’s hosted Congresswoman Sue Myrick for a roudtable discussion with local farmers.  Also joining the discussion were NC Representatives Wil Neumann and Pearl Burris-Floyd along with Gaston Co. Commissioner (and fellow YR) Tracy Philbeck and Mecklenburg Co. Commissioner Karen Bentley.

The local farmers include local farmers and food advocates.   This was not about democrats or republicans or politics.  It was simply an opportunity the YR’s wanted to provide for constituents to get to voice their concerns to the congresswoman and state/local government officials.

The round-table was an overall success!  Everyone walked away very pleased with the discussion and dialogue that was offered.  Maybe we can do this again next year!
